Life Lessons from Costa Rica

In the midst of a record breaking snowy winter I had the pleasure of escaping to sunny Costa Rica. As always, traveling inspires me and is an opportunity to explore new cultures and meet new people. One of my fondest memories of Costa Rica took place at the hot springs located near the Arenal Volcano, an absolutely stunning setting! When I entered the hot springs, there were many local Costa Rican families enjoying the natural pools. As the afternoon turned into evening, more families began to emerge and slipped in to the inviting water. I assumed everyone would leave as soon as it got dark outside, but many families brought candles with them to light the way and placed them on the rocks around the glistening pools.
