The Healthy Alternative of Going Green
Going Green is a term we often surrounding the environment. Whether it is in regards to green energy such as solar, wind or even geothermal, or simply recycling and composting at home. Going green is also a term I think about in regards to my diet. There are many health benefits to green fruits and vegetables and here are some of my favourites to incorporate into my daily diet. Edamame: A member of the soybean family, these tasty vegetables are full of fiber, healthy fat and an estrogen compound called isoflavones, that can often aid in menopause. Edamame can be easily cooked through steaming, or in a pot of boiling water. Remember to “shock” your edamame after cooking, which simply means placing them in a bowl of ice water to ensure they do not overcook and lose their nutrients. Kale:
